The whole collection at the Rózsi Vályi Library of the Hungarian Dance Academy is comprised of over 30,000 documents.
The main types of documents cover: works of literature, specialist books, textbooks, lecture notes, annals, theses, specialist magazines and other publications, scores, records, audio- cassettes, videos, CDs, DVDs and photo albums related to dance art or other fields of education (e.g. musicology, art history, theatre studies, aesthetics, pedagogy, ethnography etc.) provided by the Academy.
Deposit copies, legacies, donations
The Rózsi Vályi Library presently possesses one depository library at the Ferenc Nádasi Secondary School (87-89 Columbus street, Budapest 1145).
The Rózsi Vályi Library keeps contributions and legacies of several renowned dancers and dance scholars. Amongst others, the legacies of such outstanding personalities as György Lőrinc (ballet dancer, choreographer, ballet master, the founding director of the State Ballet Institute, Director of Ballet of the Hungarian State Opera) and Géza Körtvélyes (dance scholar, aesthete, professor, holder of Candidate's degree of Philosophy, Doctor of Musicology, secretary-general of the Association of Hungarian Dance Artists ) are preserved in our library.
